A work in progress. A simple table of symbols meant to interpret the Yi Jing. It can be used for inspiration, divination, recreation, or any other "tion" you can think of.
This is in no way an official translation of the Yi but my own personal book of symbols.
Originally I wanted to create something easy and quick to help me memorize the Yi Jing (it has been my companion and adviser ofor about 30 years). After I discovered the Discord Randomless Renaissance community here on itch.io; I was inspired to turn the Yi Jing hexagram chart into an inspirational tool for gaming. Something that would make the player’s own brain into a random die roll (a literal Random Access to Memory).
In a later incarnation I will add numbers to the top and side if anyone wants to use numbers and dice. I may also add the actual hexagram number for those so (I Ching) inclined.
- Some found the unfinished chart with blank spaces an opportunity to fill in your own. I went ahead and kept the partial blanks, and included one with just the prime elements doubled, and one with just the elements along the guide-edge.

So I'm also an old hand at the Yi Jing and while I suspect that I understood these tables more than most, I think you need to say which of the eight trigrams is represented by which symbol on the side and top. Your choices of symbols are very different from what I'd choose, so I can't extrapolate from the two examples you give.
It shouldn't take long to make a quick eight symbol guide and leave the rest for later; I know this was part of your plan anyway.
That said, this is an amazing idea!
I have often thought of your suggestion. I might do it, but for now I like the mystery of my version of the table.
Different symbols? I wonder, imagine if we all collected our own symbols and compared it to one another?
